Blonsky Sued By Ex-managers

Actress Nikki Blonsky is facing legal action from her former managers who are demanding a share of the royalties from her role in hit musical Hairspray. The 20-year-old is being sued by Margaret Karaszek and Michael Ostrowski, partners in Morgit Management, the firm that used to represent the actress. The duo filed papers at New York's State Supreme Court earlier this month , accusing Blonsky and her mother Karen of breaching their contract by not awarding the company 20 per cent of her earnings from the 2007 movie. Karaszek and Ostrowski insist the star was an "unknown" when she landed the role of Tracy Turnblad and claim their firm sent Blonsky's showreel to the casting team and even drove her to Manhattan, New York for the audition. The actress was reportedly selected for the film six months after her contract with Morgit Management expired, but attorneys for the company insist Karen Blonsky had verbally confirmed she would be renewing the agreement for at least two more years.
